OUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 2016-2017

Well it's September 1 and it was our first day back to school.  Ruy started 4th grade and Liam started K-5!  I can not believe Liam started school this year. My little baby is growing up.  He was really freaking out about starting school and said he didn't want to but once he saw his school books he got really excited.  He was happy to be having his own books like Ruy.

Getting into a routine after three months off is always a challenge. I think I am just going to start doing year round school from now on so we don't have to worry about it.  The kids get SO bored in the summer anyways because they say it's too hot to be outside so they end up just being inside most days unless we go out somewhere. It would be easier just to do 3 days of school a week year round and then do fun field trips the other days and then the kids wouldn't get bored and we'd be able to enjoy the nice fall weather more by having awesome fun field trips more often...but that's a whole other thing lol.

After breakfast was cleaned up and I got Jude down for his nap, I took a few pictures of the kids.  They are never really excited about these pictures but they are important to me so they deal with my crazy photography mom thing and let me take them :)

Around 10 we set up snacks and dove into school.  It went really well and Liam loved doing his Kindergarten work.  He was so proud of himself and it was really exciting to see him actually excited about it since last year in preschool he got frustrated a lot.

Ruy's loving his new math curriculum and I'm really excited about our history this year.  We decided to study Virginia history this year which I think will be so fun because we'll be able to do so many awesome field trips.

We took a long walk after lunch which is always something I look forward to especially once the weather starts cooling down.  Ruy usually rides his bike and Alanna and Liam like to run along side of me chasing each other, finding sticks or flowers, or knocking each other over.  Jude loves the little bike and has fun watching the other kids.

After school was naps and quiet time, then more play time outside, then dinner, baths, playing, reading books, and then bedtime.  It was a great first day back and I'm feeling really great about this whole school year.
