Jude's first birthday approached way too fast for me. I felt so unprepared for him to turn one. This year was the fastest year of my life. I've been so busy (in a good way) with my business, homeschooling, and just life that it all went by so fast!
By his first birthday, Jude was walking around couches and chairs, trying to take steps on his own, saying da-da, crawling around and getting into everything, eating so so many foods, still nursing 2-4 times a night, loving to play with all the big kid toys, loves being outside, talking walks, and being in the ergo.
On
his birthday the weather was beautiful and we spent the afternoon
outside. Then later in the evening some of my family came over to
celebrate.
I didn't want to give Jude a cake with lots of icing in it since he's
had dairy sensitivity so I made a dairy free chocolate cake. I ended up
just giving him bites of it and taking the icing off of it. Not your
typical cake smash first birthday but better how it was so he didn't get
a stomach ache. He loved his wolf and his ball though and the little
car my mom got him. My dad got him a new carseat and he has loved being
able to see us and look out the windows.
First birthdays are always so bittersweet. It's so hard to see your little baby grow so quickly but at the same time, it's so fun to watch them learning new things and be able to interact with you more. We love Jude so much and have been so blessed with such a sweet happy little boy!
