July 4th

This year, 4th of July was pretty low key for us. We decided not to go see fireworks since Alanna really hates loud noises.  It's not very enjoyable watching fireworks with a screaming baby...kind of takes away from the moment.  And her bedtime is also at 7:30PM, so she gets pretty cranky if she is up past then.  So, opting out of fireworks just seemed like the best idea.

I was totally fine with staying home most of the day because Nathan has been working a lot, and I've been busy trying to go through our house cleaning, purging, and organizing.  On top of working a lot, Nathan has been doing projects for me, keeping up with yard maintenance, and fixing a huge water leak we had in our attic.

So I started out the morning by making blue pancakes for Liam for breakfast.  I had visions of doing lots of fun crafts with Liam but...it didn't happen. :) He loved the blue pancakes though! After breakfast, we went outside to play until we had to leave for a cook out around 3PM.  I sipped on my iced coffee and held Alanna, while Nathan worked on some yard work.  Liam rode his bike, and played with a big toad that Nathan found.  Toads always provide hours of fun and excitement for little boys!  He ran around the yard picking "thlowers" for me, putting them in my hair, and telling me "Mommy, you pretty!"

The frog was chirping.  Liam was saying "O are you talking to me?"

We got home from the cookout around 5PM.  Nathan finished building, and hanging up the shelves for me.  (They look amazing, and I will at some point get around to doing a "home tour" post with pictures of them.)  I pushed the kids on the swings for a while, and Nathan took Liam on a walk while I put Alanna to bed.  After we put both "the littles" to bed, Nathan and I enjoyed some pizza and movie time.  It was a really nice, quiet day.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful 4th of July as well!!!
