Our first day of school went really well. I got up at 6:45AM with plans to be up and showered before any of the kids woke up. About five minutes after I got up though...all three of the kids were awake. But at least I was getting out of the shower before they came bursting into the bathroom :) We all got ready for the day and I heated up some muffins for breakfast. After everything was cleaned up from breakfast, I put Alanna down for a nap,had a cup of coffee while I did my devotions, and then we started school.
Everything went really well during school. Liam either sat at the table with us and colored, or played legos on the living room floor. School was pretty simple since this whole week is pretty much just review, but Ruy worked hard and had a great day. Nathan took Ruy out this afternoon and bought him piano books so he can start teaching him piano. Ruy is really excited about that! Then he worked on a craft I bought him for his first day of school. By the time he finished his craft, it was time to set the table for dinner. He had been very occupied since he woke up, and couldn't believe how fast the day had gone by.
The rest of the evening the kids played, I read books to them, and then they had story time in their beds. Ruy told me just before bedtime that he couldn't wait for school tomorrow.
I think it's safe to say Day 1 of Second Grade was a success.
