OUR MENU PLAN

First, let me say a huge thank you for all the congratulations and sweet words from everyone on my last post about Jude's birth.  I feel so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community of people and was happy to have been an encouragement to some of you new mama's to be & mother's soon trying for their first VBAC.  If you missed Jude's Birth Story, you can find the post here.

Second, I want to say how thankful I am that Jude and I weren't seriously hurt today.  When we got home from church today I was carrying Jude inside in his car seat and I slipped on our cement steps going down our driveway.  In the few seconds before I hit the ground, I was sure my face was going to hit this big rock we have by our sidewalk but I got my hand in front of my face before I hit.  I dropped Jude's car seat on my way down.  His car seat landed on its side and it scared him but he wasn't hurt.  I was so thankful I had him in his car seat or he would have been seriously hurt!  I scraped up my knees, my right hand, and both my wrists but other than that I'm fine.  I'm so thankful we are both ok.

Now about our menu.  I didn't find time to post our menu from last week but honestly, it was a little crazy.  I didn't really know from day to day what our meals would look like.  I kind of just went with whatever worked at the moment all week.  Mornings have been a little difficult with getting breakfast ready by 8am when we normally eat because Jude needs to nurse when he first wakes up and by the time I'm done feeding him it's usually 8am already.  I'm thinking I might have to start setting an alarm and getting up before the kids even though I'd rather be sleeping until they all wake up.  It's just making my mornings a little bit hectic and I think I'd rather loose 30 minutes of sleep and have a more peaceful morning with the kids.  I know...I know..I'm already losing a lot of sleep being up with a newborn all through the night but when my mornings feel crazy it kind of throws off the rest of my day.  I'm sure I'll figure out a better schedule as time goes on.  With each baby we add to the family things seem to just fall into place within a few weeks/months.

Anyways...here is our menu plan for this week.  Our church is so sweet and brings meals several times a week for the first few weeks after a woman in the church has had a baby.  It's a huge blessing. I didn't label the meals that the church will provide because I'm not sure what each meal will be.  Also, I am so excited to try a bunch of new recipes from the new THM cookbook this week.  I made the Chocolate Banana Muffins yesterday and they were a big hit with the hubby :)  I'll let you know what other recipes we end up loving!
