So I had planned on writing this post up this week, thinking that Jude wouldn't have arrived yet but since he decided to make his arrival earlier than I anticipated...I'm writing it now after his birth :)
With my first pregnancy I was so unprepared. I had no clue about anything in regards to being pregnant, labor, or preparing for birth. I had Ruy 6 days early but didn't even think once about needing a bag for the hospital. I was about 8 hours into my labor before I even realized I was in labor and by that point I was frantically rushing around packing a bag. I forgot to pack anything for Ruy and so I was lacking on some necessities during my stay but somehow I still managed to survive it.
However, I've since then tried to be a little more prepared before I go into labor. This year I was pushing it a little close because I packed my hospital bag just a few hours before I realized I was in labor. I packed everything I could and then the things that I couldn't pack until it was time to go to the hospital (like my camera, computer etc.) I made up a list of those things and sat it on top of my bag. The only thing that I forgot to pack was one more outfit for myself. I ended up having to stay one day longer than I expected so Nathan had to bring me another outfit to wear the day we came home. Other than that, everything I packed was great. So here is what was in my bag. Nothing too exciting but hopefully those of you who are pregnant can find something helpful in it.

Well there you have it. Everything that I took to the hospital. Remember...don't wait until the last minute to pack your bag because you never know how early you might go into labor and it's so much easier to have everything all ready to go.
That is a super cute bag! There are a few things on this list that I didn't think of, like slippers. And I think it's things like that that would make me feel more comfortable for not being home (I plan on a hospital birth). Those sleep bras look very comfy and I really like the design. I've been meaning to find ones with that shape of the back but wasn't having much luck. I'd like to try these but I'm such an odd size that the size chart on it doesn't suit me. This might be an odd question but do you think there is a lot of room in them? Or does it kinda of "squish" you? The bras are something that I've been having an extremely hard time in finding. I need something with a smaller waist and a bigger chest.
ReplyDeleteI plan on having my bag packed by 35 weeks (which gives me a good week and a half to get things figured out). I didn't think I'd have to plan that early but I'm hearing of a lot of mamas that have babies about that time or not long after!
Thanks for the post! I always enjoy lists for things like this even if there's something I've heard before.
The slippers I bought the morning I went into labor. They were on my list of things to buy for some time but I just never got around to it. I'm so glad I bought them that morning because I wore them while I labored and the whole time I was in the hospital and I really loved them.
ReplyDeleteThe sleep bras I posted are similar to a style I had with my first two and I really liked them but I don't have those exact ones. I couldn't find the style I have from Target when I wrote this post but I just found the link. I have these ones.

And I love these ones. I love how they are are straight across in the front. I used them with my 3rd baby and am using them again with this baby and I love them. I'll have to update the post with this link since I found them. These do not squish me at all. I get pretty big while I'm nursing and I never had a problem with them. They stretch pretty great. They fit me now while I'm 30 pounds heavier than normal and also when I'm at my normal weight. I would give the ones I posted in this reply a try.
I never have had my bag packed by 35 weeks, either not at all (like my 1st lol) or at 38 weeks with my other three but next time I will probably do it at 37 just to be sure since I went at 38 weeks this time :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the post. I love hearing feedback from my readers :) Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
Just ordered the slippers (in ivory too because your pic is so cute, haha) and the sleep bra. Thanks for your help! :)
ReplyDeleteOh yay. I hope you love them as much as I did. Make sure to let me know :)
