There are so many things that my kids say and do that I love. Little things that make me smile and laugh and that make my heart feel full. I don't write down enough of the things that I love so much about each of my kids so I'm writing this post to write a little bit about what Alanna has been doing lately. I'll be writing about the boys later this week.
Alanna is just about the sweetest little girl you will ever meet. She has the softest little voice (even when she is "yelling" at Liam (or as she says, Miam) to "stop it", "move" or "share"). She has to sleep with her blankie to fall asleep and she always has her favorite stuffed animals in her bed...Bunny, Llama, Owl, & Sheep. She likes to be covered by her small white blankie and doesn't really care for being under her big girl quilt yet.
She wants to do everything herself. She always says "I do it". She wants to pick out her own dresses, put her own bows in her hair, put her own clothes on, feed herself, buckle her own car-seat buckles (she's figured out how to buckle the top part) etc. She loves to swing or "wing" as she says it. She wants to do everything Ruy and Liam can do so she is constantly giving me minor heart attacks by trying to do things that are way too hard for her. For example, she has been determined to climb up the rock wall on our playground and no matter how many times I tell her she can't...she does! And the other day she was climbing up it again and before I could get to her to help her or stop her...she fell! It was several feet up but thankfully she wasn't hurt at all. It scared her enough to keep her off of it for about two days but now she is back at it again. She is pretty fearless.
She loves to sing. She sings along with all of our Patch the Pirate CDs and she has to have me sing to her before she goes to bed. She likes to sing "The B.I.B.L.E before bed time. She also loves Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. She says "Winkle winkle wittle star". It's basically the cutest.
She already recognizes numbers even though she doesn't know which number is which. But if she sees a number like the number 1 written down she will say "free"! Just the fact that she realizes it's a number is impressive to me :) My boys weren't doing that at her age so maybe it's a girl thing. Ruy has been teaching her how to count from 1-10. And she is catching on so fast.
She loves her new baby brother so much. She always says "awe Jude!" when she sees him and then kisses him. She doesn't really understand that she needs to be gentle with him or careful around him. Today she tripped and sat down on his face! I was so worried but after a short 3 second scream...Jude was fine. Ruy is her buddy. She thinks he is the greatest. Ruy is super sweet with her. Liam and Alanna have moments where they are fighting or more like Liam is tackling her or telling her what to do and she is getting angry. But then they have moments where they sit and read together, play potato heads together, or just sit and laugh about who knows what. They are playing together more and more lately and that makes me so thankful that I had them close together.
She just started liking frilly things like tutus and she is in love with jewelry, especially bracelets. She loves ponies. She has several of the My Little Pony toys and plays with them all the time.
She loves to color, play with play-doh, and sticker books! Sticker books keep her busy for such a long time. She just started liking baby dolls and loves to push her cabbage patch doll around in her stroller.
Alanna is my sweet girl. She's unbelievably beautiful, funny, full of energy, and so much love.
